Italian truck drivers report queues after Slovenian closure

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 21 - The Fai Friuli Venezia Giulia (Italian Road Haulers' Federation) highlighted the "congestion and delays that truck drivers in Friuli Venezia Giulia experience daily at the Lisert toll booth due to the closure of the Slovenian H4 motorway", describing the problem as "serious." The Fai stated that "an enormous volume of heavy traffic diverted onto an already fragile infrastructure, transforming the Lisert into a veritable 'bottleneck' that penalises the entire regional logistics chain" with "long waits" and queues of up to "5 kilometres," resulting in "increased fuel consumption, delivery delays, and a loss of competitiveness."
