(ANSA) - BELGRADE, AUG 12 - The situation in Albania is critical, with wildfires burning across the country from north to south. Flames raging in the forests of the Koshnice mountain, in the Gramsh area of central Albania, have engulfed several villages in recent hours, with two completely destroyed. Official sources confirmed to ANSA that at least one person, an 80-year-old man, died of asphyxiation. The Ministry of Defence has issued an urgent evacuation order for three additional villages, each with approximately 1,000 residents. In the last 24 hours, 50 fires have started, 19 of which are still active.
