(ANSA) - BELGRADO, AUG 3 - Serbia does not recognize the Sarajevo court's appeal ruling that on Friday upheld the conviction of Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban from all political activity for disobeying the deliberations of International High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt. President Aleksandar Vucic said this at the end of a meeting of the National Security Council in Belgrade. Speaking to reporters, Vucic added that "Dodik will not be arrested in Serbia should the Bosnian judicial authorities issue an arrest warrant against him. "Milorad Dodik is welcome on the territory of Serbia," Vucic said, pointing out that Dodik is president of Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina's majority entity). The National Security Council, the Serbian president still said, has determined that the confirmation of the conviction of Dodik is an "undemocratic and immoral decision, issued against freedom of expression." A decision that contributes to further destabilizing the situation in the region. "Serbia stands by the Republika Srpska," Vucic concluded. (ANSA).
