
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 28 - During the closing ceremony of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF 2025), the Olympic flag was passed from Skopje, North Macedonia's capital, to Lignano (Udine). Spyros Capralos, President of the European Olympic Committee, handed over the flag to Giorgio Brandolin, Executive President of Lignano 2027 and recently appointed Honorary President of CONI Friuli Venezia Giulia. Brandolin was accompanied on stage by Olympic fencing champion and vice president Mara Navarria, as well as Lignano Mayor Laura Giorgi. The 19th European Youth Olympic Festival, to be held in Lignano, is expected to attract 4,000 participants from 50 countries to compete in 13 sports. The international youth event will feature 50 facilities, five municipalities, and 800 volunteers. (ANSA).
