Orban challenges EU, unfreeze our funds or will veto budget

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 26 - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has threatened to veto the EU's proposal for the new EU budget for 2028-2034 unless Brussels unfreezes funds intended for Hungary, which are currently frozen due to rule of law violations. "A unanimous vote is required to approve the seven-year budget, there will be no new EU budget until we receive the remaining funds," Orban said during a summer school in Baile Tusnad, Romania.
