
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 21 - Greece is bracing for an intense heat wave that begins today, with temperatures expected to reach 43°C. According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), the hot air masses that are currently sweeping across the country will cause temperatures to peak between Tuesday and Wednesday, with the heat wave expected to last through Friday. Mainland Greece will be hit the hardest, with temperatures expected to reach 42°C and 43°C in Central Macedonia and Thessaly. Temperatures in Athens and Thessaloniki are expected to reach 39-40 °C.
