Belgrade, no deal for 100,000 workers from Ghana

(ANSA) - BELGRADO, JUL 20 - Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, who is visiting Ghana, has denied reports in some media and social networks that an agreement has been signed for the entry of 100,000 workers from the African country into Serbia. In statements to Tanjug, the minister spoke of manipulations directed at stirring tensions and social divisions. According to him, what the Ghanaian foreign minister said about work permits that Serbia plans to grant to foreign nationals was misinterpreted. Djuric pointed out that Serbia, for the needs of its economy and agriculture has for years been cooperating with a number of countries in the region but also in other parts of the world, largely for the employment of seasonal workers. Last year, he pointed out, for such workers, Belgrade granted a total of almost 80,000 visas to citizens of various countries. (ANSA).
