Farewell visit to Prague by Polish President Duda

(ANSA) - BERLIN, 07 LUG - Both the Czech Republic and Poland are providing support to Ukraine, which has been attacked by Russia, through material aid as well as political, diplomatic, and financial assistance. Czech President Petr Pavel made this statement after meeting with outgoing Polish President Andrzej Duda, who visited Prague for a farewell visit. Both countries advocate for Ukraine's accession to the European Union and, eventually, to NATO. "We believe this is the best way to ensure Europe's security and stability," Pavel said. "Russian imperialism must be stopped, and Vladimir Putin cannot win this war; we must do everything possible to prevent that," Duda remarked, commending the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine from non-European countries. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte recently underlined that this initiative has facilitated the delivery of over three million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine. At the beginning of August, Duda will be succeeded as head of state by Karol Nawrocki, who won the recent election against the governing Civic Coalition's liberal candidate, Rafal Trzaskowski. (ANSA).
