(ANSA) - SARAJEVO, 14 GIU - British company Adriatic Metals has sold a precious metals mine in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Canadian company Dundee Precious Metals (Dpm) for 1,080,110,000 euros ($1.25 billion). The mine is located in the town of Vareš, about 50 kilometers from Sarajevo. In recent years, the British have discovered mines of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium at that location, and the company Adriatic Metals has taken charge of exploiting those mineral riches in Vareš, in what is believed to be the largest postwar investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Shares in Adriatic Metals, which have risen about 30 percent in the past month, rose another 2.3 percent today on the London Stock Exchange to 246.5 pence, which estimates the company's market value at about 850 million pounds.
