Three EU countries seek action on social media and minors

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 30 - Greece, France, and Spain are urging the EU to take drastic measures to limit minors' use of social media. The digital world must "remain a place that offers endless opportunities" and "not a threat to the health and well-being of our minors," according to an informal document. They propose "mandatory and integrated age verification solutions and parental control software for all Internet-enabled devices available on the European market," as well as the implementation of a "European Digital Majority Age for access to online social networks." The daily Avvenire anticipated the document's release. (ANSA).
