Sixteen EU countries oppose the ban on Pride in Hungary

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 27 - Sixteen EU member states, including Germany and France, express "deep concern" about Hungary's Pride ban and urge Budapest to "review these measures to ensure respect and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms of all citizens, in accordance with its international obligations." The statement, prepared for the General Affairs Council, which will hold a hearing on the rule of law in Hungary, then calls on the Commission to use promptly and fully the tools at its disposal in the area of rule of law in the event that these measures are not revised accordingly.
