(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 13 MAG - A multimedia exhibition of visual art and music, featuring the diverse creativity of seven contemporary artists from Northeastern Italy, will convey a message of peace and sharing. The show is part of the Go! 2025 & Friends program of GO! 2025 - Gorizia and Nova Gorica, European Capital of Culture. The exhibition, titled "Open. Borders of Light for a World of Peace", will open on Friday, May 16 at Magazzino 26 in the Porto Vecchio (Old Port) of Trieste and will remain open until July 13. Around one hundred previously unseen works will be on display, created by seven artists including Paolo Cervi Kervischer, Jasna Merkù, Zoran Mušič, and Toni Zanussi. Some of the featured artists belong to Trieste's Slovenian community. The exhibition is promoted and organized by the Municipality of Trieste's Department of Culture and Tourism, and conceived, curated, and set up by Marianna Accerboni. Special sections are dedicated to Zoran Mušič, a key figure in post-WWII global artistic research, born in Bukovica/Boccavizza (Gorizia) in 1909—then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, now Slovenia—and active in both Venice (where he passed away in 2005) and Paris; and to Luigi Spacal (Trieste 1907-2000), a master of printmaking. The exhibited works span various media and styles: oil, acrylic, tempera, watercolor, mixed media, collage, printmaking, sculpture, and installation—ranging from conceptual, expressionist, and minimalist to neo-romantic. The exhibition will also feature various related events, including musical performances, readings dedicated to Rainer Maria Rilke and the Duino Elegies, and meetings with writers such as Diego Marani and Pietro Spirito.
