(ANSA) - GORIZIA, 05 MAG - Spring and summer in Borgo Castello, Gorizia, are brimming with dozens of events and recreational activities: open-air creative workshops for adults and children, historical walks, theatrical tours, dance and music performances, and local artisan showcases. Residents, tourists, and artists become key players in an urban regeneration program that blends tradition with innovation. Thanks to the project A Thousand Years of History at the Center of Europe: Borgo Castello, Crossroads of Peoples and Cultures, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr), the streets come to life and breathe new energy into Gorizia, European Capital of Culture alongside Nova Gorica, as part of Go!2025. Borgo Castello, a historical treasure of Gorizia, is being transformed into a stage where civic participation and widespread cultural engagement come together in an urban regeneration effort involving residents, artists, tourists, and local organizations. The theatrical tour series Even the Streets Speak is one of the most popular initiatives. After 24 sold-out performances on Via Rastello, the format moves to the Castle, with new dates already scheduled for May and June. Plans are also underway for the summer: starting June 23, a multilingual workshop for children ages 6 to 11 will explore the languages and cultures of border regions—a theme deeply rooted in Gorizia's identity. From August 28 to September 6, an International Summer School will focus on borderlands' history, languages, and cultures, featuring scholars worldwide. (ANSA).
