Slovakian President Pellegrini visits Friuli Venezia Giulia

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, MAY 2 - Slovak President Peter Pellegrini is expected to visit Friuli Venezia Giulia on Sunday, May 4, as part of his official visit to Italy. The Slovakian head of state will visit Campoformido town hall for a wreath-laying ceremony at the commemorative plaque of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik, a Slovakian national hero who took off for the last time from Campoformido on May 4, 1919 with Italian pilots Giotto Mancinelli Scotti, Umberto Merlino, and Gabriello Aggiusti. Pellegrini will then travel to Trieste, where he will meet with Region President Massimiliano Fedriga, Mayor Roberto Dipiazza, Extraordinary Commissioner Vittorio Torbianelli, and the new President of the Adsp Mare Adriatico Orientale, Antonio Gurrieri. One of the expected visits is to the Port of Trieste, which is becoming increasingly important to Slovakia's economy. The day will conclude with a solemn reception hosted by the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic in Trieste, Luca Davide Farina. The Slovak delegation will include Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, and Karla Matiašco Wursterova, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Italy. (ANSA).
