A Borderless Friendship March unites Gorizia and Nova Gorica

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, MAY 1 - A Borderless Friendship March to unite Nova Gorica and Gorizia, European Capital of Culture 2025, drew to Transalpina Square athletes and families ready to take part in the 7-, 12- or 16-kilometer routes between the culture and history of an area between Italy and Slovenia. Now in its third year, the march today renewed the tradition of the legendary march of the 1970s and 1980s, when thousands of people crossed the border without control. According to promoters, today the two cities are building the future together, and the march remains a symbol of unity, healthy lifestyle and community spirit. Today's event inaugurated the "March for Europe" sports, culture and entertainment program, which runs through May 10 and will have as its center of gravity Transalpina Square. The aim is to celebrate Europe and cross-border friendship, embracing the spirit of GO!2025. The event is organized by Javni zavod GO!2025. Partners also include the Municipality of Nova Gorica, the Municipality of Gorizia and Gect Go. (ANSA).
