Pope dead: Vucic, world loses extraordinary spiritual leader

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 21 APR - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he learned with "great sorrow" the news of Pope Francis' death. "The world has lost an extraordinary spiritual leader who, through his apostolic activity, spread love, peace and solidarity," Vucic said in a message posted on X. Pope Francis' commitment to strengthening interreligious dialogue and his dedication to humanism, he added, left an indelible mark on history. "Pope Francis was a spokesman for hope and reconciliation, always serving the weakest. His loss represents a great sorrow for all of us. On behalf of the citizens of Serbia and my own, I express my deepest condolences to the Catholic Church and all the faithful of the world," noted Vucic for whom Pope Francis' life was dedicated to faith, love and service to others, and will be an eternal inspiration for all of us.
