US considers withdrawal of 10,000 troops from Europe: media

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 8 - Senior Department of Defence officials are considering withdrawing up to 10,000 soldiers from Eastern Europe (Romania and Poland), raising concerns that this will embolden Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to NBC News. The units under consideration are among the 20,000 men deployed by the Biden administration in 2022 to shore up the defences of Ukraine's neighbouring countries following the Russian invasion. The numbers are still being worked out, but the proposal could result in the removal of up to half of Biden's forces. (ANSA).
