(ANSA) - BERLIN, APR 6 - In Germany, the rise in the polls of the ultra-right continues, catching up with Friedrich Merz's conservatives for the first time six weeks after the vote. According to Insa, published by Bild over the weekend, AFD and the Union (CDU-CSU) are both given 24 percent support. On February 23 results at the polls had still registered an 8-point gap, with the Christian Democrats at 28.5 percent and Alternative at 20.8. The data put pressure on Chancellor-in-Progress Merz, who is engaged in negotiations with Lars Klingbeil's Social Democrats over the coalition program. In the poll, the SPD is stuck at 16 percent.
