Balkans in the EU important for stability: Dal Mas (CEI)

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 3 - "The accession of the Western Balkans to the European Union would significantly contribute to the continent's stability," and "Montenegro has made great strides by establishing itself as a front-runner in the European path," said the Secretary General of the CEI Franco Dal Mas during a meeting in Podgorica with Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimovic. "The CEI is ready to support Montenegro with concrete actions such as the 'Falcone-Borsellino' project aimed at promoting judicial diplomacy and strengthening the fight against corruption and organised crime," Dal Mas stated on the occasion. Ibrahimovic, for his part, stated that Montenegro's accession to the EU by 2028 would send an important message of peace and encouragement to the other countries in the region. (ANSA).
