Commerzbank vows to muddy UniCredit's path to takeover

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 28 - The chairman of the Commerzbank works council, Sascha Uebel, has said Italy's UniCredit is in for a fight if it decides to try to take over the German lender. "We are making the road (UniCredit CEO Andrea) Orcel has to take in the fight with us as muddy and deep as possible," Uebel said in an interview to DPA, with the Italian bank set to raise its stake in Commerzbank to just under 30%. Uebel added UniCredit "will have a hard time" even if it gets to the stage of takeover negotiations. (ANSA).
