New arrests in Serbia, anti-corruption campaign continues

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 20 - In Serbia, eight individuals were apprehended today by the police, all of whom were employed by a state entity. They are being accused of corruption crimes, including fraud, abuse of office, and money laundering. Arrests are almost daily in the Balkan country, following the president's recent announcement of a renewed campaign to combat corruption, which is one of the issues raised by the government in the unresting students' protests.
