New large student protest in Serbia

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 15 - A new large demonstration by students who have been contesting the government and the president for three months, accusing them of corruption and media control, began this morning in Kragujevac, a central Serbian industrial city. The protest is being held on Serbian National Day, alongside a similar large rally called by President Aleksandar Vucic for the afternoon in Sremska Mitrovica, 80 kilometres west of Belgrade. This pro-government demonstration is expected to adopt a solemn declaration reaffirming Serbia's unity and territorial integrity, as well as condemning any attempt to favour the secession of Vojvodina, the country's richest and most developed northern region.
