(ANSA) - TRIESTE, FEB 9 - An evening of "borderless" celebration yesterday greeted the official opening of Go!2025, Nova Gorica-Gorizia first cross-border European Capital of Culture. If the central piazza Vittoria in Gorizia resounded with the music by Remo Anzovino, the 40 Fingers and singer-songwriter Tish, across the border the celebration of art and music was hosted in Edvard Kardelj Square, in front of the city hall, where a preview of the main projects of the official GO! 2025 program was staged, curated by director Neda Rusjan Bric. With dances, videomapping and dialogues, the history and stories of the area were reconstructed. The welcome greeting fell to the Slovenian premier, Robert Golob, who referred to the cooperation between peoples, peculiar to this borderland, as a message to be sent to the world against all conflict and opposition. Performances in the Nova Gorica square also included Bostjan Gombac, with a reproduction of the Neanderthal flute found in Slovenia, and two instrumentalists and friends Alexander Gadijev and Giuseppe Guarreri. Today, according to the program, the celebrations continue with a program of initiatives in Piazza Vittoria and the Public Gardens on Corso Verdi, then close with more moments in music.
