Croatia, supermarket boycott due to sharp price increases

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 30 - In Croatia, where a day of supermarket boycotts was held last week due to sharp price increases, the popular movement's calls to keep protesting continue. Last Friday, at the initiative of various groups formed on social media, many consumers across the country boycotted supermarkets, resulting in a nearly 50% drop in turnover in 24 hours compared to the previous Friday. The initiative's supporters claim that it is a way to force large food and consumer goods distribution and sales chains to lower prices. (ANSA).
