(ANSA) - BELGRADE, NOV 14 - Oscar-winning composer Nicola Piovani will conduct La Vita Nuova tonight at the Church of Saints Simon and Jude in Prague. The opera, which features soprano Maria Rita Combattelli, narrator Oreste Valente, and the Prague Philharmonia orchestra, is sold out. La Vita Nuova is a cantata for narrator, soprano, and chamber orchestra, composed by Piovani and inspired by Dante Alighieri's famous work. This musical journey explores Dante's love for Beatrice. Nicola Piovani is one of the world's most renowned soundtrack composers and has collaborated with many prominent film directors. In 1999, he won an Oscar for his score for the film Life is Beautiful, and in 2008, the French Republic honored him with the title of Knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres at Cannes. In 2023, the World Soundtrack Academy awarded him a lifetime achievement award. (ANSA).
