Germany, CDU-CSU victory confirmed with 30%

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 10 - The provisional results of the European elections in Germany confirmed last night's projections, with the Christian Democratic and Social Union (CDU-CSU), the main German opposition party, winning 30.0% (+1.1 compared to the previous EU elections and 29 seats). It is also confirmed that the AfD's right-wing extremists finished second with 15.9% (+4.9% and 15 MEPs). According to the dpa agency, Chancellor Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic Party (SPD) finished third among the parties in Berlin's governing coalition, falling 1.9 points to 13.9% and winning 14 seats in its worst national election result.
