KEP AUSTRIA: economic forum to overcome gender and motherhood wage gaps in Macedonia closes SHE-ROES project

The final event of the project "Heroes and she-roes”: Knowledge for analysis of and advocacy for equal pay for women and mothers in Macedonia (SHE-ROES) was organised in Skopje on 30 January.

Representatives from the Austrian Ministry of Health and Women (Eva Maria Burger), the ILO (Emil Krstanovski) and Finance Think (Despina Tumanoska and Ivan Vchkov) gathered within the Economic Forum chaired by Blagica Petreski (Finance Think). Discussions focused on the causes and solutions to overcome the gender and motherhood wage gaps in Macedonia before an audience of around 60 participants.

During the event the "Gender and motherhood wage gaps in Macedonia: Manual for calculation with applications in STATA", was amply promoted as was the the upgraded web platform www.edplako.mk. Companies such as Adora Ingeenering, Haselt, Pro Agens, Kontura and Sparkasse Bank were recognised as fair wage employers.

The forum was organised by the Association for economic research, advocacy and policymaking “Finance Think”, Skopje, Macedonia recipient institution of the KEP AUSTRIA Project where Austria acted as know-how provider (The Vienna Institute of International Economic Studies, Vienna).
