In depth discussions were held by Anna Ifkovits Horner, Senior Advisor of the Swiss Presidency of OSCE; Halil Yurdakul Yigitgüden, Coordinator for OSCE Economic Activities and Ambassador Silepberdi Nurberdiev, Senior expert from Turkmenistan. Nadejda Komendantova, Senior research scholar of the International Institute for Applied System Analysis (IIASA) underlined the transnational nature of major disasters related to electricity production and distribution.
Speaking on behalf on the Central European Initiative, Special Advisor to CEI Secretary General, Giorgio Rosso Cicogna, emphasised the role of Advanced Biofuels as an eco-friendly and renewable alternative energy. He underlined that their production technology and related logistics minimized the risks for accidents or disasters, and that the latter would in any case imply a minor impact on the environment. He also illustrated the many activities and projects, currently undertaken in this field by CEI, and the positive results achieved so far.
