CEI Design Schools Network Launched

The CEI Deputy Secretary General Zoran Jovanovic attended a kick-off meeting of the Design Schools Network held on 26 March 2013 in Budapest. In his address speech Mr Jovanovic pointed out that by supporting the project of the Design Schools Network through the CEI Cooperation Fund, the CEI wanted to confirm the relevance and the potentials of regional cooperation in the field of secondary education systems. At present the Network is gathering 9 schools from 8 CEI Member States, but is open for membership to art and design schools of all CEI countries.   During his stay in Budapest, the Deputy Secretary General was invited to an informal lunch with Mr. Richard Horcsik, Member of the Hungarian Parliament and Chairman of CEI Parliamentary Dimension. Mr. Horcsik announced that the Hungarian Presidency is willing to reaffirm the CEI Instrument for the protection of Minority Rights and to invite the CEI Member States that have not signed this document to do so in the near future. The Deputy Secretary General recalled that, although not a legally-binding document, the Instrument had provided the CEI with a benchmark for regular overviews of the state of protection of minority rights in its Member States.
