Documentary “How Do I See My Neighbour?” Presented by CEI at Meeting of European Association of Public Service Media in Southeast Europe

On the occasion of the Meeting of the European Association of Public Service Media in Southeast Europe (EAPSM), held on 8 March in Ljubljana, at the premises of RTV Slovenia, the CEI had the opportunity to present a documentary film of three episodes entitled “How do I see my neighbour?”. The documentary was produced by young directors from nine national broadcasters from the region with the aim to stimulate understanding and dialogue, reconciliation and good neighbourly relations. This initiative is implemented within the framework of the EU funded project “ Improving cooperation in South-East Europe by actions for strengthening of the RCC”, coordinated by the CEI.

The documentary, presented at the meeting through a teaser and short summary, represented a first joint production of the kind of the EAPSM. The participants received the DVDs and the broadcasters agreed to air the documentaries at the same time in April.

Among various interventions, particular interest of the attendees was expressed in the presentation of Mr. Goran Radman, General Manager of the Croatian National Broadcaster (HRT) on multimedia functional organisation, mainly focusing on renewing the television production and contents and trying to reach yougsters no longer interested in televison in general.

The participants also shared  their views about the current status of their broadcasters, mostly underlining  the financial difficulties and fee collections as well as the digitalisation, still under way in some countries.

An important contribution was also given by Mr. Svilanovic, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council who spoke about the Regional Film Fund and its possible funding and invited the members of the Association to provide their support.
