Successful CEI HRD Forum in Prague

This year´s CEI Human Resource Development Forum in Prague, under the title Innovation – Tertiary Education – Technical Education, was held on 23 November 2012. During the event, representatives from the Ministries of Education, universitites and other relevant institutions of 13 participating CEI Member States had the chance to present useful information on how the respective sectors of education react to current challenges in their respective countries. The presentations and discussions – focussing in particular on  the involvement of tertiary education establishments in the implementation of innovation policy as well as on the development of and support to technical education at secondary and tertiary level - helped to identify the main existing barriers in CEI countries such as institutional, situational, supply and attitude barriers.

The international seminar was opened by the Director of the National Training Fund Ms. Miroslava Kopicová, by Mr. Vlastimil Tesař, Head of the department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by Ms. Tania Pibernik who welcomed participants on behalf of the CEI. They all stressed that both topics were crucial for economic and social development in CEI countries.   Participants – especially from non-EU CEI Member States – expressed great appreciation for the information and experience received through the Forum.     The event was held back to back with the meeting of the CEI Network of Focal Points on Human Resource Development on 22 November who provided interesting information in the field of education and HRD.   ***   The Prague Human Resources Development Forum - a CEI feature event – has been taking place in Prague in November for ten years.
