Sustainable Urban Goods Logistics (SUGAR)

High-level politicians and participants from Transport institutions, municipalities, regional and local authorities from all around Europe gathered on 13 December in Bologna on the occasion of the final conference of the SUGAR Project (Sustainable Urban Goods Logistics Achieved by Regional and Local Policies).

The event was organized by the Lead Partner, the Emilia Romagna Region, together with the Joint Technical Secretariat of the INTERREG IV C Programme, co-financer of the Project.   In evaluating the results of the project, it was acknowledged that it had successfully addressed the problem of inefficiency and ineffective management of urban freight distribution, a critical element of the overall urban transport system.
In this context, the project promoted the exchange, discussion and transfer of policy experience, knowledge and good practices through policy and planning levers in the field of urban freight management. Transport, Environment, Space and Territory were the ingredients of a tailor-made solution for more efficient urban freight transport management. The CEI, as Project Partner, was in charge of involving national stakeholders at regional and ministerial level.   For more information: marconato@cei-es.org;  www.sugarlogistics.eu
