Covid: Kurz, very worrying data in Austria

(ANSA) - BOLZANO/BOZEN, OCTOBER 15 - According to Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, the pandemic's progress in Austria has assumed "very worrying" dimensions. The head of the OEVP-Green government urged the Laender to tighten the screws in the fight against Covid. "In light of the massive spread of the virus in Europe, drastic measures are needed. Everyone must be clear that the situation is serious," Kurz said in an appeal to the Laender governors. In the letter, published by the APA, the chancellor asked for interventions at the regional level, "because from a certain moment on, timely tests and contact tracing will no longer be possible." Kurz also appeals to the Austrians to take the situation seriously, "supporting the containment measures." (ANSA).
