EU-19: Eurostat, job offer drops to 1.6%

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 15 SET - In the second quarter of 2020, when the restrictive measures due to Covid-19 were implemented on a large scale by the Member States, the job offer in the eurozone and the EU- 27 fell to 1.6%, compared to 1.9% in the previous quarter, and compared to 2.3% in the second quarter of 2019. Eurostat reported. Among the Member States, where data are available, Czechia recorded the highest job offer in the second quarter of 2020 (5.4%), followed by Belgium (3.1%) and Austria (2.6% ). Greece (0.3%), Ireland, Spain, Poland, Portugal, and Romania (0.7% each) recorded the lowest percentages. In Italy, the figure stood at 0.9%, increasing compared to the first quarter of 2020 when it was 0.7%. (ANSA).
