Romania: vote-counting 99.1%, Iohannis 36.6%, Dancila 23.6%

(ANSA) - BUCHAREST, NOVEMBER 11 - In Romania, after the vote counting, at 99.1% now, the outgoing head of state, president Klaus Iohannis was successful and won 36,6% of the vote at the first round of the presidential elections. In second place came the former Social Democratic premier Viorica Dancila, who received 23.8% of the vote. Third place for the liberal Dan Barna, with 13.9%. Iohannis and Dancila will, therefore, go to the run-off scheduled for November 24, and the outgoing president is still the favorite between the two contenders. (ANSA).
