Czech Rep.: Erste, industrial production decreased in June

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 06 AUG - The industrial production in the Czech Republic decreased by -2,8% month-on-month and -6.4% on a yearly basis in June, -3.8% after adjustment for calendar effects, Erste Group Research said in an 'instant comment' today, noting that "figures are below our near-term forecast as well as market consensus." "The June figure poses a risk for the coming months, as several sectors, not only automotive, decreased. Moreover, there was 11% decreased in factory orders," Erste Group analysts said. However, Erste still sees "the whole picture of the Czech economy as favorable," forecasting a GDP growth of 2.6% and industrial production growth of 1.7%. The GDP data could be negatively impacted by a no-deal Brexit or by an escalation of trade wars, Erste noted. (ANSA).
