(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 23 SET - Trenitalia (part of the FS Group) will collaborate with Deutsche Bahn and ÖBB to launch new international Frecciarossa connections between Italy, Germany, and Austria in summer 2027. The project, which includes routes between Milan and Munich and Rome and Munich, was unveiled at the InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin. "We have presented this fantastic collaboration project, which we strongly pursued precisely because of the excellent relationship we have with these two partners. But we also did so because we firmly believe in the European expansion of our high-speed service and the Frecciarossa brand; we have spoken of a'metro for Europe,' and our goal is continued growth', said Trenitalia CEO Simone Gorini, speaking to the press next to a Frecciarossa train. "The first trains will begin running between Milan and Munich in the summer of 2027, with the goal of expanding the service to Naples and Berlin by 2028," he said. The trip from Milan to Munich takes 6 hours and 45 minutes. (ANSA).
