(ANSA) - VENICE, MAY 18 - Naitec, a subsidiary of Save Group specializing in the digitization of airport operational processes, has been selected by Tirana International Airport, as part of an international tender, to develop an integrated IT system. Managed by the Kastrati Group since late 2020, the airport has increased its role as a regional aviation hub, reaching reaching a passenger volume of 11.6 million in 2025, a 249% increase compared to 2019, the year before the pandemic - confirming its position as the leading airport in the Western Balkans. At the heart of Naitec's project is the provision of a comprehensive, automated, scalable and modular airport management platform which, building on current operations, is going to support the airport's planned growth. The new system is going to act as a central hub for operational data, enabling real-time coordination between airport operator, ATC, airlines and ground handling operators, incorporating a real-time information system for arriving and departing flights and software for the planning and allocation of airport resources such as boarding gates, aircraft aprons, check-in desks and baggage carousels. "We have embarked on this collaboration, which will see us involved with in a packed programme of activities between Venice and Tirana, with the aim of launching the first products of the new management system by June." Alberto Rorresan, CEO of Naitec, said. "Driven by a strong traffic growth and with an expected number of passengers of 13 million in 2026, Naitec's technical support has already begun on-site installation and will proceed with a phased implementation across all operational aspects," Piervittorio Farabbi, Coo Tirana International Airport, added.
