Mattarella warns of spread of fake news

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 10 - "There are many unknowns surrounding artificial intelligence, and they are rapidly evolving. Technology and security are inextricably linked and increasingly important to our democratic communities. We are seeing a daily increase in the use of this tool for disinformation and public opinion manipulation, including the unethical use of user profiling on social media and the equally unethical spread of fake news." Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic, stated this while speaking at the Arraiolos Summit in Tallinn. "We are also seeing an exponential increase in cyber attacks involving the malicious use of artificial intelligence, which are increasingly targeting institutions and critical infrastructure," Mattarella also noted.
