
(ANSA) - BELGRADO, JUL 20 - More than 1,400 fires have been extinguished in Serbia over the past 10 days, with the mobilization of more than 4,000 firefighters and about 1,700 rescue vehicles. Breaking the news today, the Interior Ministry reported that a total of 14 people were injured, while 15 others were rescued. Rescuers' intervention spared from the flames hundreds among houses, vehicles, domestic animals, and cultivated fields. In the Balkan country, after a brief respite with more acceptable temperatures, a new wave of scorching heat with highs of up to 40 degrees is expected. (ANSA).
