(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 11 LUG - The Central European Initiative (CEI), present at the Ukraine Recovery Conference, is reinforcing its commitment to Ukraine's recovery, aiming for "sustainable, inclusive and multi-level reconstruction." On the first day of the event, Secretary-General Franco Dal Mas met with Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani; Serbia's Foreign Minister, Marko Đurić; Croatia's Foreign Minister, Gordan Grlić Radman; and Bosnia and Herzegovina's Deputy Foreign Minister, Josip Brkić. According to a statement, the discussions confirmed "the solidity of the relations between the CEI Secretariat and its member states, their shared priorities, and a joint commitment on several fronts, including support for Ukraine." Dal Mas also met with Ukraine's Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications, Mykola Tochytskyi, who "expressed appreciation for the CEI's political support and its efforts to protect cultural heritage." The second day began with a meeting with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, during which "the thirty-year cooperation between the CEI and the EBRD — through the CEI Fund at the EBRD financed by Italy — was reaffirmed, along with joint support for Ukraine, including the prospect of additional financing in 2025 for energy security." The Secretary-General then attended the signing of the Ternopil Trolleybus project, financed by the EBRD and supported by the CEI Fund. "The CEI will continue to do its part for tangible, locally focused reconstruction. The Ternopil project is an example of effective multilateral cooperation that responds to the real needs of communities," Dal Mas said. (ANSA).
