(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 11 - The 'Rete Internazionale Antifascista' (International Antifascist Network), which includes members from Slovenia, Italy, and Croatia, has launched a petition against Mussolini's honorary citizenship and the reception of the X Mas in Gorizia. This was announced by the Network, which was founded in December 2024 in Slovenia, "the region where the first organised resistance against fascism in Europe was born," according to a statement. "The Municipality of Gorizia has refused to revoke Benito Mussolini's honorary citizenship while preparing for the European Capital of Culture 2025. This act, along with the reception of Decima Mas veterans, contradicts the values of European integration and intercultural dialogue that GO!2025 seeks to represent," the initiative's promoters state in the online petition summary.
