EU launches investigation into Germany's aid to Lufthansa

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 8 - The European Commission has launched an in-depth investigation into Germany's 6 billion euro state aid to Lufthansa for its recapitalisation. The scheme was initially approved by Brussels on June 25, 2020, under the temporary framework for state aid to address Covid-related issues, but the decision was later overturned by the EU Court on May 10, 2023. The appeal filed by the German sky giant is still pending. (ANSA).
