(ANSA) - PRISTINA, 03 LUG - Kfor, the Nato Force in Kosovo, announced that it would carry out a routine military exercise in the western part of the country from tomorrow until July 6. A statement confirmed the operation, conducted by Kfor's Western Regional Command, reporting that it is intended to improve the readiness of troops and their degree of reliability and mobilization to ensure a timely and safe response in case of need. Nato Force soldiers and vehicles will be deployed to the sites of Istog, Stprce, Mamusa, Decani, Djakovica, Dragas, Hani i Elezit, and Kacanik. Activities will include day and night troop movements on the ground and helicopter overflights over Djakovica, Strpce, and Mamusa. The situation in Kosovo, particularly in the Serb-majority north, remains tense and unpredictable, with local Serbs continuing their protest for more than a month against the leadership in Pristina, whose policies are considered hostile and discriminatory toward the Serb community. The Dutch and Luxembourg premiers, Mark Rutte and Xavier Bettel, will be on a mission to Belgrade and Pristina today and tomorrow in an effort to ease tensions. (ANSA).
