(ANSA) - ZAGABRIA, 03 GIU - Six Italians were seriously injured in a collision between a truck and a van Friday morning on the Zagreb-Dubrovnik highway at the Zagvozd junction, some 70 kilometers from Split, and were hospitalized in the Dalmatian capital's hospital center. This was reported today by the Croatian news agency Hina, citing local police. The road accident occurred Friday around 8 a.m. when a truck driven by a Croatian citizen collided with a Mercedes Vito van driven by an Italian carrying seven compatriots. The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries, while six Italians on board the van sustained serious injuries, although they are not life-threatening. Two other Italians were slightly injured. No names or backgrounds of the Italians were disclosed, except that they were between 42 and 88 years of age. "The Italian driver driving the van apparently had not adjusted his speed and, as it emerges from initial investigations, collided with the truck," it was reported by local police. Against him, investigators will file charges. (ANSA).
