Committee of National Coordinators meet in Trieste

The 4th Committee of National Coordinators’ meeting, under the Montenegrin CEI Presidency 2021, took place at the CEI Headquarters in Trieste on 11 October.

The morning session focused on recent and forthcoming events of both the CEI Presidency and of the CEI-Executive Secretariat (CEI-ES). In particular the Presidency confirmed the CEI Parliamentary Assembly (Herceg Novi, 15 October); the High-level Conference on Transport (Budva, 22 October); the CEI Local Dimension Kick-off Meeting (Podgorica, 12 November); the CEI Summit (Budva, 3 December); the CEI Business Forum (Budva, 3 December).

The CEI-ES – after briefing the committee on the recently launched 2nd edition of the Call for Ideas and Award Competition called “IMAGINE” Active Young Citizens for Sustainable Development in the CEI and AII Areas as well as on the Call for the elaboration of the IMAGINE logo - provided information on other initiatives organised within the Economic, Parliamentary and Local dimensions.

Special attention was paid to the results of the recently closed Call for Proposals of the CEI Cooperation Fund, the evaluation of which will be soon finalised.

The gathering also served as a platform to formally approve 7 KEP projects selected within the recent Call for Proposals, targeting the non-EU CEI Member States in priority sectors such as agribusiness, inclusion, culture, capacity building involving institutions and NGOs in particular, youth associations, with around 200,000 EUR. The CNC also endorsed a technical assistance with a 40.000 EUR contribution, focusing on improving corporate governance in family-owned enterprises in Serbia. All projects are supported through the CEI Fund at the EBRD financed by Italy.

The meeting was also an opportunity to confirm Bulgaria as next year’s CEI presiding country.
