SEETAC at SEE Annual Conference in Bologna

Under the title "The Future Built on the Present", the South East Europe (SEE) Programme Annual Conference was held in Bologna on 29 June 2012. This year’s key territorial cooperation event in South-Eastern Europe has offered an excellent platform for disseminating the main results of the South-East European Transport Axis Cooperation Project (SEETAC) among the numerous participants as well as for networking with relevant stakeholders. The overall involvement of SEETAC was coordinated by the CEI as project Lead Partner.

Prior to the SEE event, the 9th SEETAC Project Meeting took place in Vienna, Austria on 26-27 June. The meeting was organised by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology. Mr. Thomas Spiegel, Head of Department for International Networks and General Transport Planning, opened the meeting and underlined the importance of the project for improving regional cooperation in the transport sector.

The meeting dealt with the main results deriving from the data collection, current traffic flows in the SEE area and the envisaged future situation, as well as the results on the transport model.   The SEETAC overall outcomes and possible follow-up will be on top of the agenda of the Final Conference to be organised by the Slovenian Ministry of Infrastructure and Spatial Planning in Slovenia, on 28-29 August.   The SEETAC Project is co-financed by the EU through the South East Europe Cooperation Programme with a total budget of 2.38 million EUR.    More information on SEETAC: http://www.seetac.eu/
