CEI University Network: 7 New Projects Approved by Executive Board

7 post-graduate level courses, taking the form of summer schools and seminars, have been approved by the CEI University Network Executive Board.

The Network, entirely funded by Italy, is an instrument dedicated to higher education in order to foster the mobility of students and teaching staff among universities and other institutions of higher learning in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe.

The total CEI contribution amounts to 43.000 EUR, while the estimated total cost of the selected Joint Programmes, to be implemented in 2012 and 2013, amounts to about 280.000 EUR. The following areas of cooperation will be covered: economics, regional development and public administration, infrastructure and logistics, environment and sustainable development; advanced biotechnology as well as intercultural and interregional cross-border cooperation.

The Joint Programmes - with beneficiaries from the whole CEI region - will be coordinated by universities in
Albania (University “Luidj Djurakuqi”– Shkoder); Belarus (Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno); Croatia (University of Zadar); Romania (the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in collaboration with the Adam Mickiewicz Uiversity in Poznań, Poland; the University of Trieste in Italy and the Santander Group European Universities’ Network); Serbia (University of Novi Sad); Slovakia (Technical University of Košice); Ukraine (Odessa National Maritime University).

The CEI University Network - headed by the Rector of the University of Trieste in his capacity of Chairperson of the Executive Board and General Assembly of the Network - is serviced by the CEI Secretariat.
