CEI National Coordinators Visit CEI Exhibition “Free Port of Art” in Trieste

On top of the Agenda of the Meeting of the Committee of CEI National Coordinators (CNC) on 13 September at the CEI Headquarters was the preparation of a number of high-level and expert meetings scheduled by the Serbian Presidency until the end of the year.

The activities carried out since its last gathering were presented by Secretary General, Amb. Gerhard Pfanzelter, who underlined the success of the MFA Meeting, which received excellent press coverage. He also paid special attention to a number of cultural events and activities organised during the summer which highlighted ”the strong role of the cultural dimension within our organisation”.

In this regard, the CEI exhibition “Free Port of Art”, within the framework of the “Biennale 2011. Lo stato dell’arte. Friuli Venezia Giulia”, promoted by the Italian Pavillon at the 54th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, deserves mentioning. Indeed, the programme of the CNC meeting was enriched with a visit to this exhibition, where the National Coordinators had a chance  to see the works of 33 artists covering the 18 CEI Member States.

The next steps to be taken in order to strengthen the cooperation with the European Union were also described and eventually approved by the CNC.

The meeting was concluded with a presentation of two reports under the Know-how Exchange Programme:

-         The Impact Assessment and Analysis, prepared by Office of the CEI Fund at the EBRD, which analyses the impact and sustainability of seven selected KEP projects and draws recommendations for the entire Programme.

-         The KEP AUSTRIA Project Report 2008-2010, which summarises the data of 12 projects.

The next CNC meeting will be held in Rome on 18 October 2011.
