Minister Urso says the EU is prepared to take action in the appliance sector

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 05 OTT - "The Italian position has gained traction throughout Europe. Séjourné [the EU Commission Executive Vice-President for Prosperity and Industrial Strategy - Ed.] confirmed to me in writing just a few hours ago that they are ready to act, based on the points raised in our non-paper—which has also been endorsed by Germany, France, Spain, Poland, and Slovakia," said Adolfo Urso, the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, reportedly stated during the meeting on Electrolux that is currently underway at the Ministry. "This enables the company to alter its strategy," he explained, "because we can ensure a different regulatory framework to support European production. That is why I am hoping for a fresh start as early as today, with a completely different plan than the one previously presented to us, which we deemed unacceptable. A new revitalisation plan is now both necessary and feasible—one that is long-term and widely supported," he said. (ANSA).
